BACCKGROUND OF OUR FOOD PROCESSING PROJECT
Our Food processing project is a key driver of transformation in Africa’s agricultural sector that plays a crucial role in improving food security, reducing post-harvest losses, creating jobs, and boost economic development. Across the Africa continent, much of the agricultural produce are still sold raw, with limited value addition. Food processing helps transform raw agricultural products into safer, long-lasting, and more marketable goods.
IMPORTANCE OF FOOD PROCESSING
Our Food Processing project is vital for the following reasons:
- Reducing post-harvest losses: In many African countries, up to 30–50% of food can be lost due to poor storage and handling. Processing helps preserve food and extend shelf life.
2. Improving food security: Processed foods can be stored longer and transported easily, ensuring availability during off-seasons.
3. Economic growth: food processing creates employment in the areas of manufacturing, packaging, transportation, and retail.
4. Value addition: Instead of exporting raw materials, we process products locally to add value and earn more revenue.
